A Casa
da Eira is an ancient Galician farm house from the beginning of the XX Century.
It has been completely restored in 2000 respecting the traditional building materials,
basically wood (all treatments with LIVOS natural oils or similar) and granite stones – but without neglecting modern facilities such as central heating and hot water
supply, private bathrooms, comfortable beds with cotton bed-clothes, etc. It is run by
Adolfo González, Susanne Neven and their little daughters Inés and Helena
who will warmly welcome you and do their best to make your stay comfortable and rich in impressions. A Casa da Eira offers four double rooms and one single room. The common space consists
of a living and dining room with open fire, reading room with library,
garden and a traditional Galician balcony from which one can enjoy a spectacular view of the RiverSilCanyon.
The garden faces South and garden furniture is available. Home-made dinners can be arranged on appointment.
Following the season we use vegetables from our organic vegetable garden. We will also be pleased to serve you our breakfast which includes fresh orange juice,
home-made cake, bred made in a firewood oven, ham, cheese and sausage, butter and home-made
marmalades all made of self-picked fruit form our garden such as raspberry,
black and red currant, cherry, strawberry, pear, peach, etc. A Casa da Eira achieved the quality certification "Q Calidad Turística" in September 2005.
Our B&B is situated in Alberguería (Ourense), a village at the upper part
of the river SilCanyon in midst the historical area of "The Ribeira Sacra" known for its Romanesque monasteries. Our village is surrounded by hundred-year-old chestnut woods.
Numerous activities can be undertaken in the near surroundings such as hill walking,
canoeing, climbing, swimming in the nearby dam, mountain biking and waterway excursions
through the river Sil Canyon, etc. |
